Role Mission: As an Assistant Construction Manager with Ariva Homes, you will be immersed in continuous training and development. This entry-level role is designed to introduce you to the dynamic field of homebuilding. You will work closely with an experienced team member who will guide you in overseeing the homebuilding process within a specific community. Your focus will be on ensuring the timely and successful completion of homes while achieving financial, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction objectives. Key responsibilities of the Assistant Superintendent include project planning and scheduling, resource management, coordinating with subcontractors, cost control, safety and regulatory compliance, and maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn and understand the comprehensive homebuilding process from start to finish.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team to facilitate clear communication, activity coordination, and efficient problem-solving.
  • Build and sustain strong, positive relationships with subcontractors.
  • Oversee subcontractors, ensuring consistent evaluations on quality, safety, schedule adherence, and cost management.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site, ensuring all subcontractors comply with company standards and relevant safety codes and regulations.
  • Assist in managing the construction schedule to deliver high-quality homes on time and within budget.
  • Communicate clearly with homebuyers about the construction process and details of their new home.
  • Leverage expert knowledge to ensure that homes are built to high standards and meet buyer expectations at move-in.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service throughout all stages of construction, from pre-construction meetings to the final home demonstration and delivery, ensuring homebuyer satisfaction.
  • Be open to performing additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Minimum: High School Diploma/GED. An Associates or Technical degree in Construction or related field is preferred
  • Quick learner
  • Desire to learn and grow in the Homebuilding industry
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications as well as have savvy computer skills
  • Strong in communication skills both oral and written as well as strong in organization skills
  • Understand the need to be flexible and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines

There may be occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Conditions can also include risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment can often be loud. 
The Assistant Superintendent is regularly required to: 
  •  Walk, climb stairs, sit, and stand. 
  •  Talk and hear at normal levels. 
  •  See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus. 
  •  Reach with hands and arms. 
  •  Use hands and fingers to operate tools and other business machines. 
  •  Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
